UrbanPromise’s AfterSchool Programs (ASPs) are safe and fun places where elementary and Jr. High School children are given opportunity to improve academic performance, develop necessary life skills, create positive relationships with caring adults, explore the creative arts, and nurture young faith. 

Since 1988, dedicated staff and volunteers have offered tutoring, educational activities, snacks, Bible study, games and recreation for children in five programs in four different Camden neighborhoods.  The programs are all free of charge. Special events like a Martin Luther King Jr. speech contest, a Spelling Bee, Thanksgiving and Christmas Family Dinners, Spring Break trips, a 1st/2nd grade retreat, a college weekend for 3rd to 5th graders, Jr. High All-Nighters enrich the yearly program calendar.

Volunteer time as a mechanic to help us maintain our buses and vans:
To safety transport children, teens and staff to and from our programs, we need to operate and maintain a small fleet of buses and vans.  If you are a mechanic, one of our buses needs you!

Volunteer time for construction or cleaning projects:
To safely operate programs in many different neighborhoods and buildings throughout the city and to be good guests to the churches that host us, we are always working to improve the facilities where our programs are located.  If you have construction skills (or just have a group that wants to help clean a site), one of our buildings needs you!
