AfterSchool Programs

Youth crime statistics reveal that the peak hours for violent juvenile crime and victimization are between 3:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M.

Our passion for children’s ministry is fueled by the desire to ensure that our children are not a part of this alarming statistic and our strong belief that all children can make real contributions to their families, peers and community. Since 1988, UrbanPromise Ministries AfterSchool Programs have been working with children in Camden, New Jersey. In a safe, inviting and stimulating environment we provide opportunities for children to improve their academic performance, develop important life skills, create positive relationships with caring adults, explore the creative arts, and nurture young faith.

Supported by generous donors like you, our committed staff and volunteers are empowered to offer tutoring, extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, educational enrichment programs, Bible study, games, and nutritious meals and snacks for children in five programs in four different Camden neighborhoods.

We further challenge these elementary and junior high school students and enhance our programs by hosting special events like our Martin Luther King Jr. Speech Contest, Math Dare, Thanksgiving Family Dinners, Spring Break trips, 1st/2nd grade retreat, a college weekend for 3rd to 5th graders, and Jr. High All-Nighters.

Please know that because you give so generously, our AfterSchool Programs and Summer Camps are free to the children we serve.
