UrbanPromise is excited to partner again with Diane Sawyer and ABC news as they bring the issue of children and poverty to our nation's attention.
In 2007 Diane Sawyer exposed the world the issue of urban poverty through a 20/20 show called, Waiting for the World to Change. Diane's crew followed the lives of children and teens growing up in Camden, New Jersey--a city that has been called America's poorest and violent. The show compellingly revealed the challenges confronted by children and teens who must encounter the devastating impact of community violence and poverty on a daily basis.
Diane highlighted Camden's UrbanPromise Ministries as one of the positive organizations making a real difference in children's lives. Please read about our work and decide how you can best help the children of Camden.
On October 5, 2011 UrbanPromise student’s Karim and Ivan traveled to New York City to visited Diane Sawyer in New York to ask her some very important questions for our upcoming Banquet on October 20th. We hope you enjoy it!
